Affiliate Disclosure | RV Air Lab
Affiliate Disclosure
Effective date: April 1, 2026
We believe you deserve to know exactly how we make money. This page explains it in plain English.
The Short Version
As an Amazon Associate, RV Air Lab earns from qualifying purchases. When you click an Amazon link on our site and buy something, Amazon pays us a small commission. You pay the same price either way — Amazon takes the commission out of their margin, not yours.
Amazon is the only affiliate program we participate in. We accept no other paid partnerships, sponsorships, or “review samples” from manufacturers.
How It Works
When you click any “Check Price on Amazon” button or product link on our site, your browser is redirected to Amazon with a tracking code attached. If you make a purchase within 24 hours of clicking, Amazon credits us with the sale and pays us a commission — typically 1% to 4% of the purchase price for RV products.
This commission costs you nothing extra. The price you see on Amazon is the same price every other customer pays.
Why This Doesn’t Bias Our Reviews
We get the same commission rate whether you buy our #1 pick or our #5 pick. We have zero financial incentive to push any particular brand or model.
In fact, our highest-rated unit (Dometic Penguin II) often earns us less commission than cheaper alternatives, because Amazon’s commission rates are flat percentages — but we still recommend it because it’s the better product.
What We Don’t Do
To be completely clear about what we don’t accept:
- ❌ Free product samples from manufacturers in exchange for reviews
- ❌ Sponsored posts or paid editorial coverage
- ❌ Affiliate partnerships with non-Amazon retailers
- ❌ Display advertising from RV AC manufacturers, distributors, or dealers
- ❌ Payment for ranking position
- ❌ “Guest posts” that are actually paid promotions
If a manufacturer offers us any of the above, we decline. Every product we review was purchased with our own money at retail prices.
How to Identify Affiliate Links
Every Amazon affiliate link on our site is marked with rel="sponsored nofollow" HTML attributes (compliant with Google’s link attribution guidelines) and disclosed at the top of every review page.
Buttons that lead to Amazon say things like:
- “Check Price on Amazon”
- “Buy on Amazon →”
- “View on Amazon”
Internal links to our own review articles are not affiliate links and earn us nothing directly — they just help you find more information.
Our Promise
If we ever add a new affiliate program (e.g., Walmart, eBay), accept a sponsored post, or receive a free product to test, we’ll update this page before publishing the related content, and clearly label it on the page itself. This page is your single source of truth for our financial relationships.
FTC Compliance
This disclosure exists in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR Part 255 — the “Endorsement Guides” — which require websites to clearly disclose material connections to products they endorse.
We also comply with the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program Operating Agreement, which requires the disclosure statement above to appear on our site.
